Motivez CIC
George is CEO and co-founder of Motivez, a platform and community that has directly supported over 8,000 young people aged 14 – 25 from underrepresented backgrounds to access personalised opportunities, particularly within science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Motivez delivers grassroots, employability and advocacy programmes to the next generation of change-makers in STEM to solve the world's biggest challenges.
This is Engineering Campaign
As an Ambassador of the Royal Academy of Engineering's ‘This is Engineering’ campaign that has reached millions of young people, the main campaign video featuring George in his role with Sir Lewis Hamilton's race team, Team X44, has been viewed by over 500,000 people.
The Hamilton Commission
George’s commitment to giving a platform to underrepresented voices was further evidenced by his appointment to the Board of Commissioners for Sir Lewis Hamilton’s Commission, set up jointly with the Royal Academy of Engineering to address the underrepresentation of Black people in UK motorsport. As a young Black engineer, George was able to advise and guide the Commission’s work, introduce the research team to key stakeholders and young engineers for interviews and shape the final report, which attracted high public and political attention.
Team X44
Following George's childhood dream whilst fixing his friends' bikes and karting in Peckham, he joined the Seven-Time Formula One World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton's Team X44 as a Performance Engineer. The team made its debut in the new Extreme E championship series and races in five extreme locations affected by climate change to raise awareness of the issues whilst providing opportunities to improve gender diversity in motorsport. In this context, George has been furthering the advance of sustainable motorsport on the global stage.
Rolls Royce Invention
Hear George inspiring story of his experience redesigning a component with Rolls-Royce and saving them £50 million in R&D. From getting involved with an exciting project with the civil aerospace team to working with the African Caribbean Professional Network he worked to get more students inspired about engineering.
Co-op Foundation
George brings a voice to represent young people in decisions and a wealth of experience in the charity sector. As a Board Member, he has shaped the Foundation's 5-year strategy and funding of over £3,000,000 to develop young people and future communities. These projects include the Carbon Innovation Fund tackling the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
